I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience as a mental health therapist/counselor, child welfare social worker, and early interventionist. I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds. Among my areas of interest and expertise include: maternal mental health (postpartum & perinatal mood and anxiety disorders), infant and toddler development, attachment, parenting, depression, anxiety, trauma (PTSD), and grief and loss.
I am a relationship-oriented therapist with a roots in attachment theory and psycho-dynamic theory. This means, that I seek to understand how the relationships you had as a young child/infant impact your current functioning. I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) therapy to facilitate healing and allow for growth and change.
I hope partner with you on this journey and provide support, unconditional positive regard, empathy, validation, practical feedback, and build on your strengths. I also love a little humor and integrate other complementary methodologies and techniques (mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral strategies, etc.) to offer a personalized approach.
